Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 2026

This policy explains how Enzio, including its A Matter of Fact® and Qualifying Profiles brands (“Enzio,” “we,” “us”), collects, uses, shares and protects consumer information.

Enzio is a consumer reporting agency. We are subject to the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. (“FCRA”), and to applicable state laws that govern how consumer reports are prepared, shared and protected.

How we obtain consumer information

We prepare a consumer report only at the request of a client (a “user”) that has a permissible purpose under the FCRA. Before we provide any report, the user must certify its permissible purpose.

When a report is requested for employment purposes, the user must also certify that it gave the consumer a clear written disclosure and obtained the consumer’s written authorization before the report was requested.1 Users agree to reasonable audits by Enzio to confirm they are obtaining these authorizations, and they agree to keep the information they receive confidential and secure.

How we use and share consumer information

We provide a consumer report only to the user that requested it and is permitted to receive it under the FCRA and applicable state law. We do not sell consumer information. We share consumer information only:

  • With the user that requested the report;
  • With service providers, such as court researchers, verification sources and testing laboratories, that help us prepare a report and are required to keep the information confidential; and
  • When required by law, such as in response to a subpoena, court order or other legal process, which may include requests from law enforcement.

We do not maintain a database of consumer information for resale or general searching. We do keep records of the reports we prepare and of each user that requested them, as required by law.

Information outside the United States

We do not send consumer information outside the United States or its territories except as needed to deliver a report to a user. When a report requires information from another country, that information is gathered in that country and sent to us in the United States, where it is protected like all other consumer information.

Your rights as a consumer

Under the FCRA, you have the right to:

  • Request a copy of the information in your file, after providing proper identification;
  • Dispute the accuracy or completeness of any information in your file. We will reinvestigate disputed information free of charge, as required by law; and
  • Receive A Summary of Your Rights Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, published by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

To request your file or start a dispute, visit Consumer Inquiries & Disputes or contact us using the information below.

How we protect consumer information

  • Access to consumer information is limited to employees who need it to prepare and deliver reports or to respond to consumer requests and disputes.
  • Employees may not view files or databases without a business reason.
  • Workstations, files, office equipment and disposal containers are secured against unauthorized access.
  • We maintain a secure network designed to protect consumer information from internal and external threats.
  • Data is stored in encrypted form.
  • We keep a record of each request for information and the user who made it.
  • When consumer information is disposed of, it is destroyed so that it cannot be read or reconstructed, consistent with the Federal Trade Commission’s Disposal Rule.
